Dave and Ole's annual ice fishing adventure.

At dinner in Stafenferg Castle, Germany with our hosts Peter and Brigitte Schug.
Our visit to Germany was a wonderful experience. It was made possible entirely by our wonderful hosts and tireless tour guides Peter and Brigitte. They showed us, and taught us about a big part of Germany. Peter also led us on excursions into Austria and Holland.

Setting up camp in a new location required new walk ways and decks so a lot of new materials were needed.
Alaska bush pilot, Dean Andrews, was a great help as always. At left, Dean taxies up to the river bank with an external load of 16' 2x6 lumber.

Camp set up started on June 7, 2014. The new location required a whole new layout and support foundations from the ground up.

Chris and Tyler Sirois
display a fine catch of sockeye. June and July 2014 hosted a fantastic run of sockeye on the Ayakulik.

Jim Bartelt displays a fly caught king. The 2014 king run on the Ayakulik was the smallest on record with only 800 total fish. Natural king runs are in trouble across the State of Alaska. We treat them with great care and hope for a better future.

June and July of 2014 was a popular time to split trips between the lodge and camp. Twenty of our guests in eight different groups chose to split their June and July trips.

The huge sockeye run on the Ayakulik brings us some of our best bear viewing each year. June and July are prime time.

Jan and Jim Hansford put up the rods to spend some time watching the bears.

July 4, 2014

We all like to rally around the flag on this mid season holiday.

Interacting with wildlife is a big part of visiting Ugak Bay.

Part 4, Our Staff

I want to thank my mama.
I want to thank my crew.
I especially want to thank,
all the little people too.

It takes a great team to staff the combination of AlpenView Wilderness Lodge and our out camp. These pages are dedicated to the people who worked to make the 2014 season a success.
Some of AlpenView's staff have been onboard from its beginning. Many have worked for multiple seasons and others fill in for a week or two. In the end, each of us has played an important role.

Left: Shawn Finn is a founding shareholder and currently serves as president, a captain and a guide.

Fru Finn and Mickey Jones are both founding shareholders. Fru currently serves as AlpenView's vice president, Kodiak manager and expediter. Mickey currently serves as AlpenView's vice president of domestic services (our chef and head of housekeeping). Both are pictured while attending AlpenView's annual meeting of shareholders in Stafenberg, Germany.

Dave Jones is a founding shareholder,AlpenView's secretary/treasurer, manager, captain and guide.

Brad Christensen helped with spring projects at the lodge, constructing the fuel shed and wood cutting.
